              Shift Summary for EVE shift, 1/13/2000 (Thur.)

On Shift: Hogan Hguyen and Earl Swallow + ........

Hours of beam available at all intensities: 8.1 (out of 8.5)
Hours of beam available at nominal intensity: 8.1
Hours of SHORT_REG data: 6.9
Hours of special runs (laser scans, muon runs...): 0.1

Accounting of lost time & intensity:

        DAQ problems, ET power strip trip, accelerator LCW problem.

========================================================================
Runs ended this shift:

       15503 SHORT_REG832 (QKE110-118, QKB160)
       15504 KTEV_PED "
       15505 SHORT_REG832 "
       15506 SHORT_REG832 (QKE119-127, QKB161)
       15507 SHORT_REG832 (QKE128-136, QKB162)

Tapes brought to FCC this shift:

       QKE110-118, QKB160 (10 tapes).
       QKE119-127, QKB161 (10 tapes).
       QKE128-136, QKB162 (10 tapes).

========================================================================
Accesses during shift:

       One, to reset tripped ET power strip -- overlapped with tape
       change.

========================================================================
Overview of shift:

       Special SHORT_REG data taking.

========================================================================
Description of Shift:

15503 15:30 EVE Shift Begins with a large cast in control room.
                     Still getting BOA > 1.5 alarms.
                     MA ADCs out of readout.

              16:10 DN filled DC alcohol bubbler.

15503 16:47 Beam goes away, est. 20-30 min. END Run 15503.

15504 16:50 Put MA ADCs back in readout
                     and do pedestal run (15504).

              16:59 Beam returns.

15505 17:05 Start Run 15505 -- SHORT_REG832
                     with trigger 9 PS set to 10 rather than 100.

        9 return trigger 9 PS to 100.

       22 change trigger 5 PS 200 --> 100.

       40 ET Power Strip trips off -- continue data taking.

15505 18:20 End Run 15505 -- tapes nearly full.
                     Change tapes, update peds,
                     reset ET EW LV power strip.

15506 18:30 Start Run 15506 -- SHORT_REG832.
                     Got FULL from MA ADCs -- remove from readout.

15506 45 19:30 DDD Veto 3 ...
                     Have to force end of Run 15506 and mount new tapes.

15507 19:51 Start Run 15507 -- SHORT_REG832.

15507 130 22:47 DDD Veto 3 ... Trigger hung again
                     Have to force end of Run 15507 and mount new tapes.

15508 23:13 Start Run 15508 -- SHORT_REG832.

              24:00 EVE Shift Ends with a whimper (not a bang).

Follow up Notes on Previous Shift

========================================================================
Items to Follow up on Next Shifts
    (first three carried forward from AB, 1/13/2000 DAY Shift)

- Call Bruce (x4750) for DLT drive repair (ktev1, drive tps2d2) when beam
is down for >1 hour, 7am-3pm only.

- The muon illumination looks funny because the trigger is biased that
way.

- MA ADC readout problem remains.

- After discussions between BobT, Leo, and the Extended Shift Crew, our
plan is to continue SHORT_REG running until ~07:00 tomorrow (Fri.,
1/14/2000), and then to take about 1 shift of EM Regeneration Data.
