Shift Summary for DAY Shift, 16/Nov/99

On Shift: Ed Blucher, Rick Coleman, Julie Whitmore

Hours of beam available at all intensities: 7.25 hrs
Hours of beam available at nominal intensity: 5.0 hrs
Hours of E799 data (special runs not included): 7.25 hrs
Hours of special runs (laser scans, muon runs...): 0.0 hrs

Accounting of lost time:

Tev injection problems, low intensity tune-up after problems

========================================================================
Runs ended this shift:
Run 14986 Beam_799 tapes almost full

Tapes brought to FCC this shift: none

========================================================================
Accesses during shift: none

Overview of shift:

Smooth running until 11:25, spotty beam intensity and poor
spill for most of afternoon.

Description of Shift:

run spill time comment

------------------------------------------------------------------------

14986 07:35 no beam

07:40 beam returns

08:30 complain about low intensity to MCR (7-8.5 E12)

08:50 intensity back to 9 E12

247 notice small strip of ineff. HCC, reload ET

11:25 no beam, Tev injection problems
12:00 waiting for beam, change tapes which are almost full,
stop run 14986
14987 12:42 low intensity beam returns, start run 14987
13:07 intensity has gradually increased to ~4E12
14:30 Tev injection problems solved beam returns to nominal
intensity
14:35 Oops, all is not back to normal, TeV retuning creates
a spike of several times normal intensity, near the
end of the spill.
118 14:55 Spike is spill is gone...
120-125 15:00 Scaler alarm; trig 10,11,12 relative to SEM are low.

Contact Ashkan who says this is just slightly out of
limits.
