Shift Summary for eve shift, 10/14/99

On Shift: Wah, J. Hamm

Hours of beam available at all intensities: 8.3
Hours of beam available at nominal intensity: 8.3
Hours of E799 data (special runs not included): 8.3
Hours of special runs (laser scans, muon runs...): 0

Accounting of lost time: TeV problems for 10 minutes

========================================================================
Runs ended this shift:

None - 799 run 14839 still going

Tapes brought to FCC this shift: none
========================================================================
Accesses during shift: none

Overview of shift: Smooth 799 running

Description of Shift:

run spill time comment
------------------------------------------------------------------------
14839 15:30 No beam when we arrive, due to "TeV ramp permit
toggle at C3"

14839 92 14:40 Beam returns.

Patty and xterminal xpert prepare terminals in
control room for isolation from FCC (in
preparation for upcoming Y2K test). Terminals
will have to be rebooted at start of next week's
downtime.

18:30 Mount UPM016 on ktev1

275 19:50 Stream 5 errors, kfrend

20:15 Mount UPF019 on ktev2

21:00 Mount UPX006 on ktev3

23:45 CSI gain drift plot has been steadily worsening
all day; channel 1096 is now right at the lower
edge (-10% w/rt db) and periodically triggers
alarms. JW paged.

23:59 Note that "tape usage %" on DAMP window is no
longer incrementing (although spill, event numbers
are). Owl shift undertakes task of taking DA
snapshot for DART people to examine.

Follow up Notes on Previous Shift
========================================================================
Items to Follow up on Next Shift

Do muon run at tape change, no polarity flips

If no beam for > 1 hr:

- Page Jason L.
- Do a laser scan - it'll make Peter happy.
