Shift Summary for day shift, 10/JUL/99

On Shift: PM, RR

Hours of beam available at all intensities: 6.5
Hours of beam available at nominal intensity: 6.5
Hours of E832 data (special runs not included): 5.5
Hours of special runs (laser scans, muon runs...): 0.75 (laser scan)

Accounting of lost time: Changing tapes, access to replace fuse in
shaper/splitter crate power supply.

========================================================================
Runs ended this shift:
Run 13847 - 24M events - BEAM_832
Run 13848 - 6.9M events - BEAM_832
Run 13849 - - Laser scan

Tapes brought to FCC this shift: KQ1001, ...
(including tapes for online split)
QKC107-109, QKK107-109, QKC107-109

========================================================================
Accesses during shift: 1 access to replace blown power supply fuse.

Overview of shift:
E.g., calibrate CsI, E832 datataking

E832 data taking. Slow DA tells us that a power supply voltage has dropped
out on one of the shaper/splitter crates. This is the second time this
has happend to this crate in the past few days. Elizabeth is paged
and informed of the problem. EB and RR make a 10 minute access to replace
the fuse. All now seems well, but we should take a closer look at the
power supply during the down day on Tuesday.

Lost beam twice during shift. First time was coincident with above
10 minute access (but not our fault!). The second loss is ongoing as we prepare
to change shifts. The problem started at 2:15 and was estimated to be
at least one hour. No update since. We took advantage of the downtime
to do a long laser scan.

New Q/E constants were downloaded for the CsI starting with Run 13848.

We twice had HCC audible alarms warning of inefficiency, but there was
no obvious problem.
